Virginia Tech has hired Sam Siefkes as defensive coordinator after he spent the last two seasons as the Arizona Cardinals' linebackers coach.

Sam Siefkes also is a former Wofford and Wisconsin-Platteville defensive coordinator, and he worked as a quality control coach for the Minnesota Vikings.
