Colts hire new LB coach under Lou Anarumo
New Indianapolis Colts’ defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo has begun filling out his defensive staff, reportedly hiring a familiar face in James Bettcher to be the team’s linebackers coach, according to Tom Pelissero.
After interviewing with the Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Falcons, Michigan defensive coordinator Wink Martindale has been linked to another potential job opening in the NFL.
The Indianapolis Colts made their first big offseason hire, hiring former Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo as their new defensive coordinator.  And now, they've begun filling Anarumo's defensive staff with a coach from his and the Colts' past.
Lou Anarumo joins head coach Shane Steichen's staff in Indianapolis after six years on the job in Cincinnati. The Bengals fired Anarumo on Jan. 6 after fielding the NFL's 25th ranked defense and missing the playoffs.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, while reporting that Martindale will interview with the Falcons and Colts this week, added this: “The #Bengals also could have interest in Martindale, who is college football’s highest-paid coordinator at Michigan. One to watch.”
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Giants are hiring Marquand Manuel as their new defensive backs coach. Certainly an intriguing addition to Shane Bowen's defensive staff, Manuel brings a lot of experience to the secondary.
