Matt Doyle, who reached the fourth round of the US Open in 1984 and who represented Ireland for many years in the Davis Cup, has died at the age of 70.

This country’s most successful player of the modern era played in all four Grand Slams and led the David Cup team.

"It’s our job as players to continue to play basketball, win basketball games. The rest of it will take care of itself," Davis said.
