And I'll point out that Halo Reach does not overwrite Halo: The Fall of Reach or Halo: First Strike. Minor retcons are made, but the story in the game is set, almost literally, on the other side of the planet from where Fall of Reach is set.

Aug 21, 2018 · If I remember correctly Jorge, and the UNSC in general, didn't know about the greater Covenant fleet. They thought that destroying the Supercarrier will turn the tide of the invasion. He sacrificed himself to save Reach, but he hardly made a dent in the Covenant forces.
